The only time it is right or humane for an animal to receive a tattoo is when it is done in a veterinary clinic (as a tiny, non decorative universal mark in the abdominal area) to indicate that a pet has already been spayed or neutered, should their s/n incision not be obvious to future vets. This is common practice in many veterinary clinics. HOWEVER.... In my opinion, what has been to the dog in this picture is mutilation - cruel, completely inhumane, and if it is not already illegal - it should, and likely will be illegal very soon. Why would ANYONE do this to their dog? And- not that it really makes it any more wrong, but, SERIOUSLY.... A CHIHUAHUA??? God- help us all escape the completely insane person/people that took practice in trying to turn a freaking Chihuahua into (I guess youd call it something like) a biker dog.... I have no problems with tattoos... I like them very much, on PEOPLE! NOT CHIHUAHUAS!
