The only way for a Trinitarian to refute universalism (Everyone - TopicsExpress

The only way for a Trinitarian to refute universalism (Everyone will be saved) is to recognize that the word world from kosmos does not mean everyone or the place of the earth. Kosmos is anything that is put together in order like the church or a nation it is a particular aggregate of a specific sort like the world of baseball or the world of video games. (1Jn 2:15) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. The Father does not love this world (Joh 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. But the father does love this one. Obviously World does not mean the same every time it’s used. So when a universalist sees the whole world is going to be saved the only way to refute it is to recognize world can just mean the church sometimes. (Joh 17:14) I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Did the disciples come from outer space?
