The operation JazaStady is really gathering steam and if everything goes as per the book, we are standing on the brink of announcing the return of Wuon Timbe to Champions League football in the biggest way imaginable. The ongoing campaign in a way reminds me of a project we undertook towards the end of last season when a few fans called on a very short notice agreed to come up with a mega banner to announce the reclamation of our birth right as the True Champions of Kenyan football. In a short span of time ideas & finances were floated. It was one exciting project & usually when you do such projects you heart is almost always in your mouth because you never know how it will be received by everyone else. A few of us who commute through Jogoo Road had the opportunity to view the mega banner under construction & the initial response was encouraging. In a record time Gor Mahia boasted of one of the largest banners in world football. I never really got to properly appreciate the people who fueled this idea. Today, just like then, I have come to appreciate the fact that in Gor Mahia nothing is Impossible. Our spirit is aptly captured in the words of our very own Sir Bobby Ogolla when he said The Spirit of Gor Mahia is indomitable To all those who took part in the Mega Banner project & to everyone who is taking part in the Operation Jaza Stady, THANK YOU!
