The original Hep A vaccine was first released in 1995 to children - TopicsExpress

The original Hep A vaccine was first released in 1995 to children living in high risk areas, then in 1996 they started administering it to more of the population. If children did not receive the vaccine between ages 12-23 months they can still be caught up after 2 years of age. People should not get the vaccine if they have had a serious reaction to it previously or if they are currently ill. Our doctors do it between ages 12-18 months. Children recieve two doses that lasts a life time.
