The other day I contacted Monica Jackson at Fox5News to do my story. She said to send her an email. This is probably the longest email I ever wrote. Here it is: Monica, my name is Howard Platzer. I am creator of REBEL TV, Inc. I started it in NYC in 1992 after 3 surgeries from cancer while working in 2 World Trade Center. I was the Boy Wonder of Guy Carpenter generating $18 million in 1985. On Black Monday Oct 19, 1987 my job became worthless. No longer a boy wonder but a man searching for an answer after losing his colon and thyroid to cancer. I was told I had a 10% chance of survival. I became a guinea pig for Dr. Irwin Gelernt. He saved my life. Jumping forward I am a victim of Depak Desai after being passed to different doctors at Southern Nv. Colonoscopy Center. In 2009 I needed 2 more surgeries from their negligence and today UCLA medical center wants to remove my stomach. Everyday I postpone this surgery I take a chance of more cancer. New Years Eve 1990 my father died. He was known as The King of the Beats all over the world for his record store The Music Factory where he became famous giving break beats to unknown Rappers who all became rich & famous. My Dad also collected autographs from age 12 getting Babe Ruth first in pencil. Chaplin, Gable, Marilyn, Martin Luther King, Jr and 10,000 other celebrities & famous people. As for myself I knew something really bad was going to happen in The WTC. I quit in 1991 because I could not get healthy working in a place with sick building syndrome because if someone was sick on 47th floor everyone next week was sick on 48th floor. On my birthday in 1993 the first bomb went off in basement in WTC. I ended up on welfare with deep depression from my surgeries. I felt like a freak now and doctors had no answers on how to feel better constantly changing my permanent meds I still have to take for survival. So one night in 1992 I wanted to jump out on my 5th story apartment in NYC because I couldnt even pay electric or buy food to feed myself. It was 4 in the morning and I couldnt sleep. I was flipping channels on TV when I couldnt find anything to watch to take my mind off my problems. I said to myself I could do television better than whats on and the next day I went down to local cable station and said I want to do TV. They said whats the name of your show? I said REBEL TV, they said sign here and I was on every Tuesday night at 11pm against the news and before I knew it I had a million viewers. I would walk down the street and people would say thats the guy. Your show is great when can I see another. I was famous for a while until I lost my Uncle & cousin killed in a plane crash and had to stop REBEL TV to help my Aunt. We all ended up in Vegas on July 4,1995. I went to 25 casinos looking for a job and no one would hire me even with my education and references. Thats another story. In 2008 at age 50 I graduated from CSB School of Broadcasting and aired REBEL TV on KTUD-TV on 6/13/08 on Friday Nights at 2am. I was on until 9/08 when my wife was in bad accident by idiot running red light. I lost everything and went off the air again. 2009 came I had 2 more surgeries even dying on operating table after doctor accidentally pinched my kidney. I am a real survivor. Why I am still alive I have always questioned God because of all my suffering. I lost my home last week to predatory lender Citi Mortgage even though I am in a class action lawsuit against them. Now on disability I try to do good things and lead by example. My son will be 16 next week. He is my hero. My Dad left Legacies! I am bankrupt with no answers but to smile be thankful and know I will be back on top of the world. Thanks for reading this never ending email. This is the longest I ever written.
