The other day I saw a guy cooking up some cocaine and prepping it - TopicsExpress

The other day I saw a guy cooking up some cocaine and prepping it for distribution. He cut it with baking soda and flashed his gun as he waxed poetically about lethal retribution that was coming to anyone who snitched on him. He and his boys were seen counting wads of money and musing about their insatiable love of drug dealing. If you guessed that I what I witnessed was a seemingly fictional account on screen, you’d be right. Was it HBO’s “The Wire?” Nope. How ‘bout “New Jack City?” That Nino Brown was a bad man, man. You’d be wrong there, too. I saw this bit of artistic detritus in a video for one of last year’s hottest songs. “CoCo,” by some dude named O.T. Genasis (that’s not a typo; blame our beleaguered and neglected schools systems). I don’t have a problem with artistic expressions of violence. I loved The Godfather I & II” (don’t you dare mention III or you’ll have to sit in a corner and shoot yourself) and “Scarface as much as the next guy; and I bow at the hip-hop altar of Biggie, Mobb Deep, and Scarface (the guy from Houston, not Al Pacino). But this wasn’t that.
