The other day I was at a grocery store in Canada buying some - TopicsExpress

The other day I was at a grocery store in Canada buying some fruits and veggies, and after ringing up all of my items, I handed the store clerk my Visa card only to discover that my American card wouldnt work with their machine. I didnt have any cash or other cards to use and as I looked back at all the antsy people in line behind me, I decided that perhaps it wasnt meant to be with me and these groceries. Right before I walked away, a woman who had been waiting in the line came forward and enthusiastically offered to pay for them. I felt guilty about accepting such an offer from a complete stranger, but she assured me that it was what she wanted to do and suggested that I just pay it forward to somebody else some day. I was super moved by this random act of kindness, and it sparked an epiphany inside of me, that every day we are presented with opportunities of all sizes to help make the world a better place. Want to make a difference? Smile at strangers as you walk by them on the street, compliment somebody, pick up some litter, tell your loved ones your favorite things about them, act out of selflessness, hug with your whole heart... the opportunities are infinite!
