The other day in kroger i was waiting at the pharmacy to pick up my moms medicine. A woman with a little girl about 3 approached with her. She was a bit ill tempered so I smiled at her and made her laugh as her mom was talking to the Pharmacist. The little girl then began to edge away from her mother and I felt she was gonna get too far from her. The child then ducked around the shelves and out of line of sight. Wasting no time, I went after her as I interrupted the mother and the pharmacist loudly and said HEY YOUR CHILD IS LEAVING! I then began to chase the kid, even though I knew it might look bad. It was either look like a creepy old man chasing a little girl OR have the girl disappear into a crowd full of people only to be snatched up by a REAL bad person. Im not exactly built for running but adrenaline is a wonderful thing. I was about 20 feet chasing the girl and I was yelling the whole time STOP THAT KID! A young woman bagging the groceries intercepted her and stopped her as I caught up to 10 feet closer. Child saved! At this point the mother comes zooming by me in a flash of speed! After it settled she couldnt STOP thanking me.
