The other day we were discussing the USS Midway Museum in San Diego. I last visited this MUST SEE attraction in San Diego in July of 2007. ILL have to go back again...soon. I now live in Phoenix..so its within driving distance for me. I just saw something on FB that reminded me of another great military museum thats worth seeing if youre ever near the Texas Hill Country town of Fredericksburg. Frederickburg, Texas is located pretty much in the dead center of Texas..geographically speaking. One of its claim to fame is that it is the boyhood home to the WWII Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz. It is also the closest town of any good size to another National Tourist attraction..namely the LBJ Ranch. The National Museum of the Pacific War is also located in Fredericksburg. In 2008 while returning back to Phoenix from my hometown of Beaumont, Texas..I decided to visit the Pacific War attraction. I wish I had more time to stay there..Like the USS Midway Museum.. theres too much to experience in just one visit. Being Admiral Nimitzs hometown..the US Navy and the Navys contribution to WWII in the Pacific is very well represented there. Heres the link..in case anyone is interested. THX pacificwarmuseum.org/
