The other day when petitioning the Lord about an area that was very troubling for me, I received the words, “You have My power and will.” I’ve been laboring with that and the Lord brought to mind another word He had ministered prior to that, “As a mirror’s power is in its ability to reflect, so also is faith’s power in its ability to reflect Christ.” So then, taking that direction for reflection to gain understanding in regard to the word “power”, I saw further that faith’s power to reflect Christ is in exchange. There has to be an exchange for our experience of this power. For this part of my reflection, I was reminded of a word once ministered to me that helped me understand the idea of faith exchanging something. The word was, “turnstile”, which means: “a mechanical gate consisting of revolving horizontal arms fixed to a vertical post, allowing only one person at a time to pass through.” One normally pays through a token to obtain the turn that allows entrance to a subway train, tram, or boat. Access is granted to some kind of transportation or entrance to an amusement park. So I saw in that exchange of a token, access granted. The power was in the token, but the token had to be exchanged to gain the experience that was sought after. And so it is with faith. Faith has the power to reflect Christ upon exchange with the tokens that are empowered by the Spirit to represent Him, for us to gain access to God’s wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. By this exchange we gain an experience in having reasoned with Him. John 2:12, “This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.” The power and will of God can never be more or less than has been determined by God to be manifested to us in Jesus Christ. #s8w #ApostlesToday
