The other night at dinner, a friend was telling a story about a horrible Mexican guy, but hes horrible because hes a horrible person, not because hes a Mexican, so I correct him and say hes a Mexican horrible guy, and not a horrible Mexican. That makes us wonder whether or not hes horrible at being Mexican. Do we need a Mexican Cultural Expert to evaluate his Mexican-ness? How does he rank against other Mexicans? Naturally, Im inclined to ask, on a scale of Juan to ten, how good of a Mexican is he? I crack myself up with my casual racism.
