The other week, I was at CrossFit and went too heavy on the squat. I have a herniated disc in my back and it flared up. I have taken the week off CrossFit to help my back heal, but today I tweaked it again with a heavy kettle bell. You think I would learn! This afternoon, I had the RARE opportunity to have the house to myself, and while I didnt read on the couch like I had anticipated, I did some important recipe researching on Pinterest, lol. I came across a warm drink recipe that adds 1/2 tsp turmeric to a cup of almond milk along with a hint of maple syrup and a splash of vanilla, 1 tsp coconut oil and a dash of cinnamon. I blended it in my Vitamix and it was delicious!!! I tried this particular recipe because turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties as well as anti-oxidants and anti-bacterial properties. I figured I would give it a try because I was cold and I really am willing to do anything to get my back normal again.
