The overture to Midsummer’s Night Dream, written by Mendelssohn when he was just 17 years old, has been called the greatest marvel of early maturity that the world has ever seen in music. A free pre-concert lecture will be offered in the Concert Hall at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday; and at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday.
