The pain he felt was the worst he had ever experienced in his 35 years of life. As he lay trapped with his arm caught in the farm equipment, he made a choice. He had list so much blood already. And he was milea away from any help. Now he understood why his wife told him to keep his phone on him and not in the truck. The truck. Even that was a quarter of a mile away. He could lay here and possibly bleed to death before someone found him or he could do what he knew he must do if there was a chance of survival. He took the knife from the side of his belt. He always kept it on him. It was a gift from his father only a few, short years ago. The blade had been dulled by the skinning of other animal hide but it would do the job. As he cut into his flesh, he suddenly was happy that the animals he killed were dead when he did this to them. Or at least most were. He thought that as he cut the pain would ease. But with each motion it was there. It seemed like days that he sat there dismembering himself. Even after it was done the pain was there. Only it was not in the arm that lay on the ground, but where he had to cut away. He made it to his truck somehow. After he called for help he passed out from blood loss and shock. But he survived. The pain of his arm being caught and even him cutting it off was only temporary though then it seemed like eternity. We tend to think that the pain will never end when we cut people off or cut ourselves off from situations. We so many times stay there rather than remove it. The removing hurts when we have no anethesia. The anesthesia dulls the pain. But even without it, the pain is temporary. The hurting is temporary. The crying is temporary. The fweling of loss is temporary. God is our anesthesiologist. He always offers it. Many times we tuen it away. Or we take it and still dont allow for the surgery to take place. Know that the removal of what will slowly kill your destiny is only a temporary pain. Have a great day fam!!
