The palace of Bharat Bhaina is located on the banks of the Bhadra river at Keshabpur Upazilla of Jessore. King Bharat has built this vast palace during the reign of the Gupta dynasty near about two thousands of years ago. The site is generally acknowledged as the “Bharat er Deul or Bharat Rajar Deul” to the local people. During the first half of twentieth century there had been a 12.22 meters high and 266 meters wide a mound in this archaeological site. Kashinath Dixit, the Superintendent-in-charge of the Deapartment of Archaeology of British India visited this site in 1889 and opined that the mound is even higher than 50 feet and it’s radius is more than 900 feet.
