The parable of the 10 Virgins is not about those who make no spiritual profession. (Matthew 25) It reveals that among those who profess to be of Him that many will not make it to eternity. Notice they all had lamps with oil? The lamps represent the word of God just read Psalms 119:105 for yourself and this will be seen. So what is this difference between the 10 virgins? It is the seeking after the Holy Spirit who alone can change the heart. In the parable they all fell asleep as they waited for the arrival of the bridegroom but when the cry went out " behold the bridegroom cometh go ye out to meet Him", the sleeping virgins all sprang to their feet but 5 of the 10 had run out of oil. Note they all had lamps you know but no longer did they all have oil. Five had prepared themselves well.
