The paradox of resource curse-the outcome of the National Conference will surely be the foundation of the Nigerian revolution; be it for good or bad… The paradox of resource curse in this country with abundance of natural resources have a tendency of beclouding the elite to mislead that Oil must be misused to the “good of all Nigerians”. This has tremendously impaired our economic growth than countries without these enormous natural resources abounding with us. This complications are so for many different reasons, but especially the deterioration in the competitiveness of the federating regions and principally of the other economic sectors that remain untapped (caused by the surge of the over reliance in the Oil & Gas sector as the only physical exchange rate resource revenue for the entire economy to make easy money for the benefit of only a few). Precariousness of revenues from this (Oil) natural resource sector, government mismanagement and massive political corruption provoked by the inflows of easy windfalls for rent seekers and their political cronies have particularly worsened the Nigerian situation. Like the dishonored Oputa Panel abortive mission, Chief Akinjide has just declared the perfidy of the political class not to allow this nation move forward for their own selfish class interest against the popular wish of the suffering plebeians. But unlike that dark era of the Biafran betrayal, the outcome of the National Conference will surely be the foundation of the Nigerian revolution; be it for good or bad…
