The passing of Henry Boet Botha 1 RLI Today I received the very sad news of the passing of Henry Boet Botha, 1st Battalion, The Rhodesian Light Infantry. Boet was one of those Gentle Giants (but had a really effective right hook which he demonstrated on occasion). He had the most affable character and a pleasant demeanor. It was no wonder that he married Revon, a Miss Rhodesia finalist. A loyal friend, trustworthy and very hard to anger - I reckon he never had a bad word to say about anybody. His one memorable claim to fame was when he and Dick Warton did not believe me that driving a Bedford M down Shashi Pass at 80MPH would strip the Transfer Case - Sure enough - he and Dick were towed in. Sorry china, you have to wear it. Boet - You have gone to join Revon your beautiful lovely wife who has been waiting for you. Farewell my friend.
