The past 24 hours have involved (1) chatting with a couple of friendly paramedics as they strapped Dave into a chair to carry him down our very narrow stairs, (2) hearing slurred commentary from my beloved like I can totally see why people get addicted to morphine....zzzzzz; and (3) adding a litany of painkillers to my vocabulary. After overnighting in the ER, hes home and (sort of) ambulatory again. The back is a spiteful mistress.
