The past few weeks have been tough, with my fathers death on July - TopicsExpress

The past few weeks have been tough, with my fathers death on July 25, and his viewing and funeral last week. I thought the viewing was going to be really hard. A long day, 2PM to 8PM, in front of his casket in the funeral home. But the time actually went very quickly, because I spent all day talking with a constant stream of people who told me what a great guy my dad was. One story in particular sticks with me. Mom and Dad grew up in Delphos, and that is where the viewing was. One lady -- one of his old classmates -- spoke with me, and said that she had known my Mom and Dad since first grade, and had gone to school with them, at Delphos St. Johns, all the way through high school. She said Harry Landwehr was always the nicest boy in school. He always was. He wasnt like the other boys, that would tease you, or stick their leg out to trip you when you walked in the aisle. And if the teacher needed something, or needed someone to get something for the classroom, Harry was always the one that would get up and do it. He was always so nice, and helped people. I said, He was like that his entire life. Thanks to all of you for your support and concern these past few weeks. He will be missed by so many people, even those who knew him only casually -- walking at the mall, seeing him in church, etc. It still makes me smile, and maybe makes me a little misty eyed: Harry Landwehr, the Nicest Boy in School.
