The past is the foundation for the future. We are the product of our past. We are who we are because of who we were. The past is the foundation for the future world, the place we will be. If the world is poisoned, the poison will grow into the future. We need to protect the world for future life. Some people are harming the world for their own personal gain. This affects all life, human, animal, and vegetable. Al Gore was right. His book, “An Inconvenient Truth” really does spell it out. Forget politics. This is about life. The planet is slowly becoming unlivable. Vested interests keep getting in the way of logical discussion and action. Fossil fuel industries (coal, natural gas, oil) downplay the impending problems. They are the ones who should be working on solutions. Carbon dioxide is the main culprit. Contact your politicians and lay it on the line. Tell them to take positive action to correct the ongoing damage or you will vote them out. They already know the facts, but too many of our senators and representatives are subject to donations for their political campaigns. Too many are more interested in getting re-elected than they are in really representing you. We’ve been having crazy weather patterns causing severe storms, fires, floods, and droughts. The country has had storm after storm leaving paths of destruction. The predictions are that there are many more to come. We are all at increasing risk. Carbon dioxide accumulates in the atmosphere. A little is good. It keeps the heat from escaping so we are left with a livable level of temperature, rather than a subfreezing atmosphere. Too much keeps the temperature higher and higher until we pass the high heat danger zone. It’s rapidly increasing. Our use of fossil fuels is the main culprit. There are ways to control it, and Congress knows it, but it would require expensive changes for industry. Cost and greed get priority over the common good. Let your voices be heard.
