The past one month I have been battling a rather embarrassing condition but which if not treated can be serious. I have been passing blood during my long calls, thank God for laboratory tests I was advised to undergo a colonoscopy to rule out colon cancer(worst case scenario). So i had to part with over 20k for tests, consultation and finally the colonoscopy.5 days prior to the test,u was advised to abstain from food after a procedure referred to as gastric lavage-basically your intestinal system is washed till you pass liquid as stool!. Today I went for the test, entered the colonoscopy room.In there I met a fly cure nurse who told me to undress, lie on an examination table..it was embarrassing to say the least. The doctor came in,I was injected with valium and cameras were pushed up my rectum, after a few photos of my colon were taken I was told to get up and dress. After 10 minutes,I was called to receive the result,I was praying to God not to grant me colon cancer. The doctor showed me the photos of my colon and it was apparent I had what is referred to as 2nd degree hemorrhoids(to my relief). I was told they were caused by a diet lacking in fibre-the chips and chicken I had been eating daily for the past one year had finally sent me to this. Now I will be eating fruits, native vegetables, whole flour ugali and most importantly take in lots of water. I am relieved now.
