The past problems Acts 1:1~4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.” (4) ♬ Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #412 Far Away in the Depths of My Spirit (#469 in previous version) Why did God call the evangelists and make them to testify the Gospel? The Bible tells us about salvation and destruction and that Jesus Christ came to testify the Gospel. Nevertheless, there is a reason why we fail in life and not believe in God even if we know these facts. It is due to the scars we have from the past and the bad influences we have received from life. Those with the Gospel must understand the Gospel and check their past state. How must we do it? 1. We must imprint the correct Gospel As we look back upon our past, we discover that problems do not get resolved if it is not by Jesus Christ. Jesus enjoyed the covenant as he prayed over a period of forty days on the Mount of Olives. The only thing we should ask for is the filling of the Holy Spirit. The Jews lost hold of the Gospel right before their eyes in the fight over religious power. Samaritans preferred mystical phenomena over the Gospel. People who do not receive answers easily fall into humanism, mysticism, and incorrect ideologies. We must imprint evangelism and missions correctly so that we do not lose hold of the Gospel in our daily lives. 2. If the Word gets imprinted, doors of blessings open When the Word gets imprinted in us, all of our past problems and scars turn into blessings and become platforms for missions. The more we meditate on the Word, our incorrect thoughts and weak parts disappear and answers come faster. Our imprinted past becomes our platform, problems gets connected to evangelism, and doors of missions opens. God made Moses wait in the wilderness of Midian for 40 years. He may have appeared as a runaway, but his wait became a platform for missions. 3. God’s work starts anew Once we realize that Jesus is the Christ, who has solved all problems, we can relay this answer to people around us. We must relay the covenant to our future generation in order for this blessing to be passed down. Changing what we have experienced in the past into something new glorifies God. Many of those who are not enjoying this blessing among our next generation are wavering. If we restore the Word God has given as we look to God’s work, then our lives get restored anew.
