The past tenses of some irregular verbs differ in both "spelling" and "pronunciation". Example... Past tense... "Smelt" (UK) versus "Smelled" (US) (see American and British English differences: Verb morphology). Same meaning different spelling and pronounciation... "Odour"- chiefly British variant of odor... Ou sound versus O sound... If you feel confuse about the sound its okay! One important thing is you know the "Word" and "Meaning" Then practice the sound... dont be shy to have mistake...we wont learn things if we dont have mistakes... Good morning... )
