The path to greater openness and permission to receive is often - TopicsExpress

The path to greater openness and permission to receive is often hidden in a question I ask my coaching clients, and that I invite you to ask yourself: “What would have to happen for me to be more open to receiving love, attention, affection and appreciation?” As a follow up question, ask, “Might I have to (finally) forgive, pardon or release myself from some spell, judgment or sentence I’ve been living under?” “Would I have to be diagnosed with a life-threatening illness? Or die?” “Would I have to do something special (i.e. make a million dollars, get cosmetic surgery or win the Super Bowl) to prove my worth?” Whatever your answer, think about whether this is really fair. Or reasonable. If not, go back to the drawing board and rewrite your term sheet for receiving love, praise and gratitude. Rethink the conditions under which you could allow yourself to receive more love, appreciation, affection and respect. And write them down. Reading them can slowly change, strengthen, and balance your economy of giving and receiving. - Dr. Ken Druck Read more here: mariashriver/blog/2014/12/learning-to-receive-in-the-season-of-giving-ken-druck/
