The pathogen has finally been identified as bacteroide fragilis. Not that that means anything to any of you, because it sure doesnt to me. Im sure its rare, because thats how we roll. Anyway, were still stuck inpatient, because the labs have to figure out what meds will kill this sucker. Once they figure out what meds shell take for 2 weeks, we can come home (hopefully tomorrow.) Yay right? Not really... because the meds will definitely have to be given through her port. So, shell remain accessed, which means she cant go to school. Im hoping that I can infuse her a few hours before work and a few hours at night... so Im crossing my fingers for the meds to be only twice a day. If so, maybe the dogs can babysit her while I work. 😜 I wish!! So now, the Macy shuffle begins, and unfortunately shes become very attached to Jeremy and me, so it makes things a lot more difficult. Anyway, the most important thing is that she is doing really well. Shes happy as can be, except for a few moments every now and then when she cries to go home or cries for Cate. Those girls have an incredible bond!
