The people of Umuitodo in Igboeze North/Udenu Federal Constituency - TopicsExpress

The people of Umuitodo in Igboeze North/Udenu Federal Constituency have accused former General Manager, Enugu State Rural Electrification Board, Mr. Simon Atigwe, of trying to truncate the zoning arrangement in the constituency due his vaulting ambition. A statement signed on their behalf by Chief John Apeh, said that going by the zoning arrangement signed by all the leaders of Umunano, where Atigwe hails from, he could only vie for the next chairmanship of Igboeze North as it was the turn of Umuitodo to produce the next House of Representative member for the area. ‘’By our arrangement, Atigwe cannot run for the election. His elder brother, David Atigwe was imposed on us for 12 years as member of the state House of Assembly. The late David Omeke from his Aji village was a member of the House of Representatives. After him, the present traditional ruler of Essodo, Igwe Simeon Itodo took over. ‘’Due to the rotation arrangement, the late Ikechuchkwu Ugwu from Umuida in Ozzi took over. After Hon. Ugwu, Fidel Ayogu also from Ozzi (Umuopu) represented us before he voluntarily left the position for Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi from Udenu. Ugwanyi, a product of same arrangement, spent 12 years in House of Representatives and now that he has been chosen as the consensus candidate of the PDP, the position should be occupied by an Umuitodo or Ezzodo person and certainly not an Essodo person like Atigwe. ‘’Among those who were signatories to this agreement are the current Zonal Chairman of the PDP in the area, Chief Mike Ejinima and Igwe Simeon Osisi Itodo. 2015
