The personal IS the political... my post about child maintenance was not a plea for money or for comfort - it was a political post about how the child support system is NOT working... When i had the youngest I lost my milk... to be poor and need to buy food for your bubba (@$24 a tin) and have no money because the other kids have had to go on school excursions, get a piece of uniform of even sometimes just one more expense, it brings on an anxiety that is incredible... deadly, actually.... Poverty is grinding and non stop. Men have to pay for their children to have a decent life. Whether love conquers all or whether the kids will pay me back is of NO consequence to the immediacy of food needs... and the responsibilities that men should take up properly. As i have said above, poverty should never stop child access and children whose Dads pull in $1,500 a week should NOT have to struggle for school uniforms or swimming classes!!
