The phase in Egyptian history that we talk about the most here I designate as Kmt. By Kmt I mean Dynastic Egypt or Egypt of the Pharaohs. A dynasty is a family of rulers, one member of the family succeeding the other for an extended time. There were thirty such dynasties during the age of the pharaohs. And most of them were Black African. We have to qualify this because there were also foreign dynasties like the Hyksos and the Persians. The line of descent of these African dynasties was traced through the female side of the family. The B word was not used in Ancient Egypt! Women in Kmt were highly respected. They could bring cases to the courts of law and could will and inherit fortunes. In Kmt, it was the couple that was the ideal social unit.
