[The photo is a summer ago when I visited with a new young friend and his family at Elsipogtog.] Happy New Year: to all who answered the call to resist shale gas development in NB and related issues that have undermined our democracy. That includes those who used the like button, those who posted helpful research, those who commented, and those who read and discussed the issue with family, friends and acquaintances -- even strangers. Of course it also includes those who made personal and family sacrifices to win the cause. They took people into their homes, they provided food and other essentials for the various camps, and they were arrested while establishing their constitutional rights to freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. In 2015 we still have the forestry rip-off to expose, the futility of building more pipelines or petro-chemical infrastructure. Of course, this is a federal election year and an opportunity to restore our ailing democracy. Perhaps a minority government is the best cure. Please add your priority issues to the above list.
