The phrase "it was a close run thing" springs to mind with meeting deadlines for the new holiday cottage... The night before our first guests arrived, everyone was pitching in and helping and, Patrick, I never realised you were so handy with a paint brush (lots of early training as a youngster painting sash windows!)... Tuesday morning and the external door for the bedroom was still being fitted, pipes were being boxed in for the bathroom and John was building a cover for the new oil tank. The mere fact that it is now gorgeous sunny weather, the terrace looks gorgeous, complete with ancient olive tree, and that the turf seems to be coping with non-stop drought has made it all worthwhile.... thegranary-brieryhill.co.uk/
