We are all scratching our heads listening to Delegate Donna Christensen and her supporters who say that she deserves to be the next Governor of the Virgin Islands. Of course we are baffled by the delegate and her supporters because she has had an opportunity for 16 of her 18 years under Democratic Administrations to share the lead with a few governors and take the lead in multiple cases to do right by the Virgin Islands. These facts need further attention by the Federal authorities. The Delegates reports come back to us that she has been in discussions with the Department of Interior and Administrators in Washington, DC Offices. Dont be fooled. Since she has been sleeping in DC with all of this confusion and these lapses at her doorstep, her saving grace has been her lieutenant governor candidate and his ties to the Department of Interior. Call a spade-a-spade. Her discussions with administrators as she has reported are administrative employees who have little to no influence. Riddle me this. If the Delegate to Congress is so good at her job and respected in Washington, DC, why hasnt she been able to get a meeting with the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Secretary of the Treasury? As the public is aware, the delegate has known about CMS impending de-certification if the VI did not course correct since 2011. The delegate is a physician by trade. Given these grave circumstances the delegate should have directed her Health Policy Advisor or a capable person in her office to course correct the CMS problems years ago. The change needed is to get her out. And again, these facts need further attention by Federal authorities.
