The pioneers have packed up the seeds and returned to their other lives for the rest of the day. The weather turned out to be a great day for the Seed Swap. Many people did come out to visit the Village to bring and receive seeds, ask questions and visit. Our Village spinner and her assistant, ginned cotton by hand (to remove the seeds), used combs to separate the cotton fibers, and then spun the fibers into thread to be used for make clothing or other items from the cotton. The Pioneers are very proud that the cotton was grown right at the Village. All who wanted to taste the butter churned using a glass jar, were treated to a sample on crackers. Sorry no hot biscuits were available! It was a good day at the Village. Put the Spring Open House dates on your calendar, May 3 and 4, and come on out and join in the fun. We will be looking for you!
