The place I enjoyed being part of fired me for not calling them - TopicsExpress

The place I enjoyed being part of fired me for not calling them yesterday to inform them that I was thinking of them by staying home on a day that I was not feeling well. I was making granola and to get others sick or potentially contaminate the granola is not an option. During the near six weeks of employment (three sober and three again medicating with cannabis) I (for the initial three weeks) made enough granola on my own by myself to (8-9 batches a day) to increase our output (way more than what they were doing). By the 4th week they were talking about expanding and I was able to bring a friend on to work with us. Well he joined when I had already established a solid foundation and he was able to pick up on the processing portion cause he did not have to get 8-9 batches of granola in by himself each day. So after 2 weeks of working like this as a team, I get fired for taking a day off and not calling to tell them I was ill. They caused more suffering and more work by taking the entire day yesterday to assess how they would replace me rather than just staying focused on what they needed to do and trusting that I was just doing the same and would return to work today. Now I am out two jobs (after leaving the initial one at a restaurant to work this one in the granola kitchen) and have to start from here on out again to establish my own foundation while my friend gets to just keep on working and not having to do anything to earn the job. Skewed reality of a existence we live in. When you do something right and noble for people and they just look at the one or two small things that you messed up on. I got myself sober to work these two jobs and now they just let me go after I build them up to where they are now.
