Otherwise they become vulnerable, malfunction and eventually die because their life, provision, safety, success, authority is attached to the environment they were placed in. Similarly when God created man, from Himself, He placed him in His presence. Therefore if we [humans] are to be productive, secure, successful, and whole, provided for their needs, experience authority and live fully we must remain where He put us in – His presence. It seems that the plants and the fishes understand this TRUTH more than humans do...
