The plumber came out today and he found the source of the problem why the toilet wouldnt drain down when it was flushed. He power augered it for the longest time and got nowhere so he had to pull the toilet up and discovered that someone had flushed a plastic faucet handle and it became lodged in the toilet. At that point I decided to go out and but a brand new toilet to put in and thats when I got another surprise. A standard toilet has a rough in size of 12 and our current toilet flange was only 11 1/2 from the back wall so I had to go to the plumbing supply store and buy a custom size 10 rough in toilet so it would fit back in the space we had to work with in the bathroom. We are also having an issue with low water pressure in the house and to remedy that we need to replace the old steel water lines because that are partially corroded shut inside the line. In order to do that we will have to bring in a backhoe and dig up the sidewalk and part of the street to run a new water line off the cities main line. We also have to put a brand new furnace in the house and run ductwork all through the house. Currently there is no ductwork at all in the house and we had to cease using the gas hot water heater because it isnt vented to the outside it leaks gas out into the house so we are going to replace the old gas water heater with a 50 gallon electric hot water heater. I got most of my floors sealed today in all the rooms and the animal smell is now greatly diminished so we will be good to go with installing new carpet this coming Saturday. That was how my day went, so how was your day...?? :D
