The point being made frequently regarding the whole Paris incident - TopicsExpress

The point being made frequently regarding the whole Paris incident is the fact that Muslims do not accept criticism, that we want to censor everyone who has anything to say about Islam and Muslims. Watching Question Time now, once again the very simple and obvious point is just lost on the panel and much of the audience it seems; criticism, open debate, intellectual discourse, its all very welcomed by us and we live with it and through it on a daily basis. But why must we accept the absolute right of others to insult that which is sacred to us, why must we accept the gratuitous depictions of our most beloved prophet (saw) and why does our refusal to do so mean that Islam is beyond questioning or criticism. Insulting, vilifying and offending cannot be equated with intellectual (and critical) honest debate, how is it that rejection of the former denies the latter?
