The police are doing much more than any of us can realize. Hating on a force that has done a damn good job of catching these shooters so quickly after it happens, that put their life on the line when they put on their uniform for work. is sad. Citizens arent doing that. The police cannot predict where crime will occur any better than you can. Did I ever in my mind think a man would be shot and killed in the quiet street in front of my house on Wednesday? You can be damn sure I would have called the police had I known before it happened to warn them. Yet they had the shooter in custody the same day. They conducted a thorough investigation and apprehended the guy. One shooter off the street. Did citizens do that? No. Support the people that are here to help. Dont trash them. They work on a government budget that is constantly being cut because we dont want to pay more taxes. I will happily pay more taxes when it comes to public safety and education. There is no one person or group or situation to blame. It isnt just the criminals or the police or halfway houses or our sadly poor penal system, which punishes instead of rehabs. And it takes a lot more than just one thing to make change happen. Lots of little things and lots of people and lots of time create change.
