The poll is misleading! The reason that 70% of those polled oppose ground fighting is all because of leadership. There is understandable fear that they will be forced to fight with so many rules of engagement restrictions that their ability to accomplish their mission as well as their safety will be severely compromised. Another fear is that all the assets of the US Military will not be available to them. US command and Control is another requirement of those who would be asked to fight on the ground. The US military is more than willing to fight for the security of the United States, but they want the assurance that they are permitted to deploy, complete the mission in the most expeditious manner possible and not be hampered by inept leadership, politics or anything inconsistent with method of conducting War in the manner of which they have been taught. Thats all they ask and I dont blame them.
