The power of a great teacher is to use emotion as a tool to enflame our desire to learn. Dr. Shariati is often accused of being an emotional teacher to promote Islam among the youths. The truth is before Shariati, organized religion was nothing but emotions. Both Shariati, and Malcolm-X brought back learning, and awareness to their audience. It is ironic that after their removal, organized religion went back to just emotions, with no learning. Ashura is the perfect example of this.
