The power of technology! Thanks to a simple iPad and Internet connectivity, I am able to share with you my wonderful afternoon spent at the Gaikundo Secondary School, Mukurweini. The celebrations held today, Saturday, July 12th 2014, marked their 8th anniversary and I was honored to be Chief Guest. There are not too many things that I enjoy as much as spending time with children and communities excited about education. While my dancing skills may have been put to test, I had a good time. And I am pleased that my message regarding Early Childhood Education and the need for us to mainstream into the main education program, was well received by the parents, mentors and community. As I have always said, the most important class in the school is that of the nursery schoolers. This is when we can capture their imagination and instill in them the love of education. We need to work harder at rebuilding and improving Early Childhood Education so that we can experience greater success in grades and the pursuit of life goals in later years. Congratulations again to Gaikundo Secondary.
