The press is one of the 5 basic barbell lifts we teach to all novice strength athletes. Properly executed its also one of the more difficult. Like the other lifts, a straight bar path is critical. The bar is positioned over the middle of the foot at the start and will end over the middle of the foot at lock out. The slight lean back allows the bar to travel in a straight line from start to finish. This is one of our CrossFit intro athletes finishing up her first FREE week trial. The level of coaching we give in a free week trial is well beyond what most will ever receive. This is excellent work for her first exposure to the press.
