The problem is that the establishment politicians on both sides of the isle play sophisticated games which allow them to appear to be for the little guy while holding onto the benefits for the powerful. Drawing up a plan to fix the problem is easy. Getting it past the establishment is nearly impossible. For example, the grand compromise could be to exempt the first $20,000 of earning from the payroll tax in exchange for eliminating the racist minimum wage laws. Second, have the government pay 15% bonus pay on the first $20,000 of earnings in exchange for eliminating much of the relief that only encourages the break-up of homes. Finally, in exchange for a flat income tax on each and everyone of all income above $50,000, pay out retirement social security to only those who have less than $20,000 in income. This plan would put millions of people to work, slow the need for robots, help re-establish the rule of law. By the way, if you make more than $35,000 per year, you are in the top 1% of the worlds earners.
