The problem many people have is that once theyve told the first lie, its hard for someone who desperately wants to believe and trust them, to believe and trust them again. Telling even a little white lie, and then being caught in that betrayal, destroys one of the most fundamental parts of any relationship, be it a friendship, a partnership, a marriage, a parent-child relationship. When you choose to lie to, or dismiss, discount, devalue the people who should be most important in your life for the sake of your own selfish desires, or to not hurt or disappoint someone who should mean nothing to you as you move forward in your life, you tell those most important people that they really dont mean much, if anything at all, to you.
