The problem some people would say education is over-rated is because we go for education just for the sake of it. You want to be a graduate also, its for bragging rights. You come here with your BA in Dance Studies and go around claiming to be educated. We dont think long and hard in terms of what we need to do and achieve then choose a proper course of study. For instance I mayt decide at some stage I want to have a farm, then enrol for agriculture. Something useful maan! You not even a politician, you never attended a rally but you go and study political science. Then after you graduate you go work at a call centre. Waste of money, waste of valuable time. And the fact that we have many unemployed graduates is because most of them studied just anything that they saw at a pamphlet at a gate in varsity. So its not that education in itself is overrated, it can never be, its impossible. But its getting a degree for the sake of having a degree thats overrated!!
