The problem with flooding is any prediction will be based on Met - TopicsExpress

The problem with flooding is any prediction will be based on Met Office / Environmental Agency figures etc. Simply these are outdated statistical models, eg there is a 1 in 100 year chance of a flood exceeding this level etc. They are in the main based on historical data, not what is happening now. One reason why the official models are not picking up the present degree of flooding is because they are not based on best science or most appropriate methodology, rather the restrictions imposed on them by their funding criteria. It is the modern equivalent of the middle ages construct of reality that the Earth is the centre of the Universe and the heavens are supported on crystal spheres. Refusing to listen to Galileo, Copernicus and Kepler. Until the environmental, political and media establishment acknowledge they need to have a conceptual paradigm change in their thinking the flooding will just go on and on.
