The problem with teamwork in college: A few years back, I took a management course as part of my Business Degree. Before class, we were asked to fill out a "getting to know you" survey. Through some unusual circumstances, one particular response of mine ended up being read to the class, after which, I believe, I was classified as "infamous" The question was "What is your experience working in teams?" "I find teamwork to be one of the most draining aspects of my entire existence so far. While we all strive to rise above "groupthink" and phrases like "a camel is horse designed by commitee," most of the modern academic inclination to force college students to work together is unfortunate and cruel. In college, teamwork is a drain on the intelligent, and a burden on the diligent. It should be avoided at all costs." I ended up receiving half the class votes for project leader. Good times.
