The proponents of Measure Q seem to have been doing some polling – its not looking good for them. So, as usual, Healy has decided to sponsor robo calls – denigrating those who disagree with him on the wisdom of this measure. Dont buy it. Healy lies when he claims that Mayor David Glass offered no other alternative, or that Glass – the only member of the City Council who has actually achieved funding for Rainier – is simply playing politics. No, its Mr. Healy who is playing politics as usual – at the expense of the rate payer. Just a couple years ago when Healy ran for re-election, he assured the voters there would be no need for an additional tax to fund Rainier. He was lying then and is now lying about the records of people who actually have shown integrity on this issue. He funded robo calls back then too – labeling those who expressed honest and valid skepticism about the funding challenges for Rainier as against traffic relief. Of course, Healy was one of the council members who pushed for the traffic inducing development he now wants us mitigate at OUR expense, rather than the developers who have made 10s of millions in profits. Please watch the following excerpt from the council meeting in which Mayor David Glass appeals to the other members of the Council – including Healy and Harris – to compromise and allow voters the opportunity to support a 1/2 percent special tax for road repair and Rainier and a separate tax for the general fund: https://youtube/watch?v=5xNwj8YVT78&feature=youtu.be
