The proportion of crorepati winners in the 16th Lok Sabha has gone up by a third, to 82 per cent, compared with 58 per cent the previous Lok Sabha. In 2014, a total of 442 elected MPs out of 541 are crorepatis, against 300 in the 2009 elections. Also, the average assets per MP in 2014 have gone up almost three-fold to ₹14.61 crore from ₹5.35 crore in the 15th Lok Sabha, says an analysis by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR).
