The public area was an unlikely arena. Two strangers never imagined this contest. They both wore a college logo on the sweatshirt; red and the other green. One bi-ped smiled sweetly. The other smiled back. In the distance , they both saw it at the same time. Within seconds , it was clear this would be a race without rules. Red pushed green down and gained a lead. Screaming , green got up and hustled. He was not graceful , but had purpose in each step. Glancing backward , red tripped. With a gremlin like laugh, green fell to his knees. The prize is now just a few feet away. Green notices his knee was bleeding and ignored it. Red kicked and reached a tiny hand out.., fingers grasped the toy and it was over. Mother swooped up red and apologized to greens mother, at home he is never like this . The other mother smiled and privately thought she has just met a brats mother. And so goes the judgement of child rearing. - a day at the mall with 2 mothers and two Children.
